27.10. 2005 - Funkwerk reports significant earnings improvement in Q3

Funkwerk AG has reported a substantial improvement in earnings (EBIT) in the third quarter of 2005. According to figures now published, the operating result of the Thuringian tech-nology group between July and the end of September 2005 totalled 5.8 million Euro. While this signifies a substantial increase on the previous quarter (2.3 million Euro), it also marks a slight improvement on the prior-year figure of 5.7 million Euro. “As anticipated for the third quarter, we recorded above-average gains on the earnings side. This is quite remarkable, all the more since the sales trend was curbed by a number of project delays“, commented Funkwerk Chairman, Dr. Hans Grundner, on presentation of the figures.

16.08.2005 - Funkwerk subsidiary wins three million Euro contract from Turin

Kölleda/Fürth, 16 August 2005. Turin’s underground will be equipped with state-of-the-art security technology from Funkwerk. Following a Europe-wide call for tenders, the city of Turin as the venue for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games has now placed the pertinent contract worth around three million Euro with Funkwerk plettac. “This contract shows that as a system supplier, our technology is able to meet competi-tion effectively in Europe. We hope that this will lay the groundwork for further projects,“ states Dr. Hans Grundner, Chairman of Funkwerk AG. Funkwerk plettac is the only manufacturer of premium CCTV cameras and supplier of integrated security solutions in Germany.

11.08.2005- Funkwerk increased sales significantly in Q2

As anticipated in the second quarter of 2005, Funkwerk AG recorded a clear gain in sales. According to the six-month figures published by the supplier of professional communication systems today, the revenues generated between April and the end of June rose by around 16 per cent as against the previous quarter, to 61.2 milllion Euro. As projected, however, mid-year sales totalled 114.0 million Euro and thus remained behind the prior-year record of 125.4 million Euro. “In the next two quar-ters, we anticipate a considerable increase in sales, with earnings to rise at an above-average rate,” predicts Chairman of the Board, Dr. Hans Grundner. “On the whole, we are convinced that a sales target of around 260 million Euro and an EBIT margin of approximately 9 per cent for the whole of 2005 are realistic figures. Based on our potentials and our current market position, we once again anticipate all three segments to grow at two-digit levels from 2006.“

18.05.2005- Norwegian national railways opt for Funkwerk technology

Kölleda/Oslo, 18 May 2005. The Norwegian national railways, NSB and CargoNet, are now also plan-ning invest in Funkwerk technology for the modernisation of its communication systems. As specified in a contract recently signed in Oslo, the Thuringian technology corporation will provide NSB and CargoNet with around 500 digital mobile radio systems (GSM-R terminals) by 2008, with an order volume exceed-ing 7 million Euro. “NSB/CargoNet are already the tenth national railways in Europe to use our equip-ment. With a total of over 11,000 GSM-R terminals supplied and installed, we are by far the leading supplier of this technology worldwide,” says Funkwerk Chairman Dr. Hans Grundner.

12.05.2005- Funkwerk anticipates growth spurt from midyear

Kölleda, 12 May 2005. Funkwerk AG predicts a growth spurt for the latter half of 2005. As stated by its Chairman, Dr. Hans Grundner, at today’s presentation of the quarterly report, Funkwerk expects sales this year to rise to around 270 million Euro (2004: 249.1 million Euro), with an EBIT margin finishing at around 9 per cent. The basis for this was said to have been created by way of various product innova-tions and spending on the development of new market sectors in the first three months of the 2005 finan-cial year. As a consequence, the quarterly earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were burdened more considerably than in the prior-year record quarter, falling to 2.1 million Euro (2004: 5.5 million Euro). As expected, sales in the first quarter amounted to 52.9 million Euro and thus failed to reach the prior-year record level of 62.0 million Euro, which had been spurred by a now completed major contract.

23.03.05 - According to the figures of the 2004 group management report: Funkwerk clearly exceeds growth targets

In the 2004 financial year, Funkwerk AG clearly exceeded its growth targets. According to the final figures (in compliance with IFRS) of the 2004 group management report now available, the company listed in the TecDax selection index achieved a new sales record of 249.1 million Euro, up by 40 per cent on the previous year (178.6 million Euro). At 46.3 per cent, the consolidated annual net profit rose even more substantially, reaching 15.8 million Euro as against 10.8 million Euro in 2003. The earnings per share improved by 35 per cent to 2.03 Euro in 2004, despite the fact that the number of shares increased by in excess of 10 per cent to 7.978.150 compared to the previous year. At the same time, the incoming orders of 249.4 million Euro improved by 51 per cent as against the previous year (164.9 million Euro). “This confirms the stability of our course for growth. Despite the weak investment environment, we anticipate further growth and an improvement in our prior-tax earnings (EBIT) in 2005,” Chairman of the Board Dr. Hans Grundner said on presentation of the group management report in Frankfurt today.
