2005 - The year of the winter Olympics
February 2005: The Funkwerk Dabendorf GmbH concludes a cooperation arrangement with the Euro Telematik AG, a market-leading enterprise from the area of professional telematics services.
Herewith the customer oriented hardware components of FWD can be connected to the telematics platform of Euro Telematik to thus use the Know How of both enterprises to create the biggest value add for its customers.
May 2005:. Other European National Railway decides to modernise its communication systems with Funkwerk technology.
A contract was signed with the Norwegian National Railway NSB and Cargo Net which includes delivery of 500 digital mobile radio devices (GSM-R terminal) until 2008. NSB/Cargo Net are already the tenth European National Railway using devices of Funkwerk. By now, more than 11,000 GSM-R terminals were delivered and installed. Therefore Funkwerk is far and away the worlds leading supplier for this technology.
At the 5th general meeting of the Funkwerk AG board of directors and supervisory board suggest an increase of the dividend to 0.35 euros per share (year before: 0.30 euros). Through the dividend, the stockholders of the Funkwerk AG should also profit directly from the good economic development of 2004.

On 01 July 2005 the Funkwerk Dabendorf GmbH celebrated the 15th year since its foundation. More than 250 guests from politics, economy, and the public life as well as customers and member of the family of the employees attended the celebration at the company headquarter in Dabendorf.
August 2005: The city of Turin gave an order about the project engineering, delivery and installation of the video supervising system aboard the underground line 1 and the company headquarter to "Funkwerk plettac electronik GmbH".
The extension of the Video Monitoring System on stations, in tunnels and the company depot Collegno was also added. The Funkwerk subsidiary showed that it is competitive with its technology as a system supplier throughout Europe.
November 2005: Funkwerk expands its scope of technology and becomes active in the market for TETRA mobile radio systems. To achieve this, an exclusive developing and marketing cooperation with the Dutch system specialist Rohill Technologies B.V. was signed. Offers regarding digital radio systems for transport services, authorities and security services are increased.
December 2005: Funkwerk concluded the business year with sales and profits below the figures of the year before. Net sales decreased by about three percent to 242.0 mil Euros. The operative result (EBIT) decreased to 17.1 mil Euros. 2005 was a phase of transition for Funkwerk, in which high priority was put on securing the achieved market position and to further develop potential for future growth. In spite of the lower annual profit the Funkwerk AG offers a stable dividend to its stockholders. The 6th general meeting for 2005 suggested a payment of 0.35 euros per share.
