Dr. -Ing. Hans Grundner (Chairman of the Board of Management)

Dr Hans Grundner, studied electrical engineering at the University of Technology (TU) in Munich. Following his graduation as an electrical engineer in 1972, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Circuit Theory and Signal Processing at the Munich University of Technology (TU) and received his doctorate of engineering (Dr-Ing.) there in 1975.

In 1976, Dr Grundner began working in industry as a systems engineer. He worked for Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm until 1989 and was responsible for system development and projects. During this time, Dr Grundner held various management roles, the last of which was Manager for Programmes and Sales Subsystems.

After working as a freelance corporate consultant and as manager of a branch of Mannesmann Mobilfunk, he commenced employment as Managing Director with Hörmann GmbH in 1991. In this role, Dr Grunder developed medium-sized groups and exploited new growth areas, so that sales increased dramatically within just a few years. Following a restructuring of the Hörmann Group, he became Managing Director of Hörmann Verwaltungs GmbH, Kirchseeon, in 1995.

In 1992, Dr Grundner founded Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda GmbH, which was later to become Funkwerk AG. He floated the company on the stock exchange in 2000 and has been Chairman of the Board of Management since then.

Dipl.-Ing.(FH) Lutz Pfister
Responsible for: Automotive Communication segment

Lutz Pfister, studied the development of scientific equipment from 1970, specialising in precision engineering/optics, following his training as a toolmaker. In 1973, he began his career with Funkwerk Dabendorf, where he held various management positions. In 1993, he took on responsibility for product management at Funkwerk Dabendorf GmbH.

In the course of the privatisation of the company and the intervention of Hörmann Beteiligungs KG on 1 January 1997, Lutz Pfister was appointed Managing Director.

Mr Pfister has been a member of the Board of Management since the foundation of Funkwerk AG and is responsible for the Automotive Communication segment.

Dipl.-Kfm. Norbert Gunkler
Responsible for: Finances, Organisation

Norbert Gunkler, studied business management at the University of Erlangen in Nuremberg from 1979 to 1984. He went on to gain extensive experience in various business management roles with medium-sized German industrial companies.

He joined GfE in 1996 after holding management positions at Schöller Lebensmittel, United Technologies Grundig and Markt & Technik Buch- und Softwareverlag. As CFO at GfE, he developed the areas of Controlling, Finances, Accounting, IT and Organisation.

Norbert Gunkler has been a member of the Funkwerk AG Board of Management since September 2003 and is responsible for Finances and Organisation.
