27.10.2005 Funkwerk Enterprise Communications delivers WLAN technology for Ziehm Imaging mobile X-ray units

Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, is persistently expanding its activities into the field of eHealth. In keeping with this objective, FEC recently concluded an agreement with the company Ziehm Imaging GmbH, headquartered in Nuremberg. Effective immediately, this agreement calls for FEC's WLAN technology to be integrated into Ziehm's line of mobile X-ray products. Respective FEC hardware and software have already been given medical approval as specified by European standard EN60601-1-2 . This enhances Ziehm products with unrestricted wireless communication capabilities for medical applications.

14.09.2005 Funkwerk Enterprise Communications presents new WLAN router for SOHO and Home Office

Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a Funkwerk AG company, presents with its bintec R232aw (Annex A, Europe ex-Germany) and bintec R232bw (Annex B, Germany) two flexible IP WLAN routers. The devices offer secure, wireless access to the Internet and reliable connections to corporate networks via VPN (virtual private network). They are ADSL2 und ADSL2+ enabled and attain download speeds of up to 12 Mbit/s and 24 Mbit/s respectively. The two routers also integrate WLAN radio modules which comply with the IEEE standards 802.11g and 802.11b. With their attractive price-performance ratios and comprehensive features, these new members of the bintec router fam-ily are designed particularly with smaller enterprises and home offices in mind.

NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a Funkwerk AG company, introduces its new software release 7.2. Besides offering advanced quality of service (QoS) functionalities for bintec branded products, the new soft-ware also supports switch-port separation, HTML wizard-based configuration options for the stateful inspection firewall and PKCS#12 and SNMPv3 support. NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, presents new firmware for its WLAN access point, artem ComPoint Butterfly. In addition to supporting WPA (Wi-Fi-Protected Access) Enterprise Mode for secure data transmission across wireless networks, the software update also allows the artem ComPoint Butterfly to serve as an access client. The firmware is now available for download, free of charge, at www.funkwerk-ec.com. With the artem ComPoint Butterfly, FEC is addressing those customers who – despite limited budgets – do not wish to forego security, stability or functionality.

04.07.2005 Funkwerk Enterprise Communications receives trademark rights to VoVPN®

NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, has been the proud owner of the German trademark rights to the VoVPN® (Voice over VPN) trademark since May 13, 2005. VoVPN® will now be used in all the company’s voice-data solutions, enabling professional users to protect their Internet telephony against access by unauthorized parties as well. Thus, FEC has been successful in securing the trademark rights to this key technology early, underscoring the leading role it plays on the convergent voice-data market.

29.06.2005 Funkwerk Enterprise Communications introduces the bintec X2301w and X2302w high-speed WLAN routers

Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, now introduces the bintec X2301w (Annex A) and the bintec X2302w (Annex B): two completely new, fully equipped WLAN routers. These flexible routers provide secure wireless Internet access and the secure connection to the corporate network via a VPN (Virtual Private Network). The integrated ADSL modem supports ADSL2 and ADSL 2+, providing download rates of up to 12 or 24 Mbps. The bintec X2301w and X2302w ADSL routers are also equipped with an integrated radio module based on the IEEE 802.11g und 802.11 b WLAN standards. Additionally, both these new routers sport a four-port switch.
