Funkwerk Information Technologies’ highlight this year is the newly developed AlisterCargo system, an automatic depot controlling system conceived with industrial components and developed according to CENELEC SIL 2 to be applied in marshalling yards, gravity hump yards, depots and industrial railways. The new control system brings operation of shunting yards up to the latest technical standard: Depending on operational requirements both a centrally operated interlocking can be installed as well as a local decentral facility for points control. In sections where several tracks begin and terminate routes can be set at the press of a button using the route setting panel and locally operated electric points. Manual operation of individual points is unnecessary. This makes depot operations faster, more efficient and above all, safer. The system was recently commissioned by Danish State Railways (DSB).
