06 August 2008: Ian Brown new Managing Director at Funkwerk IT York
From 4 August 2008 Mr Ian Brown will become the new Managing Director of Funkwerk Information Technologies York Ltd. Mr Brown succeeds Mr Roland Albert who takes over the management of Funkwerk Information Technologies Malmö AB. After seven fruitful years in York, Mr. Albert will manage the Swedish subsidiary which serves the Scandinavian market.

The Tirol Transportation Authority (Verkehrsverbund Tirol GesmbH (VTG)) recently placed a contract with Funkwerk Information Technologies GmbH (Funkwerk IT) for delivery of a “central data pool” to distribute timetable data within a dynamic passenger information system for all public transport services throughout the Tirol region. In preparation for the expected increase in passenger volume during the European Football Championship 2008 in Austria, VTG’s project, entitled “System for dynamic passenger information in the VTG”, incorporates Funkwerk IT’s product RIMOS as the central element within the overall system.

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) which is the State Government agency responsible for the provision of essential infrastructure in the Australian State of Victoria, has awarded Funkwerk IT York a contract to develop the Timetable Management and Fleet Management System Modules for a new Rail Operations Management System (ROMS).The development will build on Funkwerk IT’s existing products, Resource Manager, ResourcePlan, TrainPlan, AccessPlan and RailPlan (TPC) which will be adopted as one integrated system. DOI is the formal contractor of ROMS; the system will, however, be used by the relevant train operating companies, currently Connex and V/Line.
